Colo River - Culoul Ridge - Hollow Rock

This was an exploratory walk for a much longer walk from Newnes to Colo River. Last time we tried to do this walk the area was closed due to a recent fire. We had previously made a half hearted attempt to find the river prior to that - and this attempt was too serious either because we weren't too sure if the area was open (although the NPWS said it was). We started late in the morning and drove out to along Grass Hill fire trail. After clearing a tree from the trail we continued on to the car park. We started out for a stroll but had to return to get our gaiters as the undergrowth was pretty high. We walked along the fire trail until it stopped. There was a nice view of the valley but we did not continue down the walking track. We returned back the way we came. On the way back we discovered a Cairn and we followed the rough walking track it marked to the rock formation known as hollow rock. After a few photographs we tracked back to the fire trail and returned to the car.
